AMERICAN SPORTING NEWS: The Boston Red Sox won baseball’s World Series last night by defeating the St. Louis Cardinals four games to none. In response to this unexpected and entirely unwelcome turn of events, skating excursions on the hellfire ice for families and church groups are now in the planning stage, followed by the 4-H Club’s annual exhibition of locally raised prize flying pigs. The fire department's ladies' auxilary will serve a blue plate special of kosher pork chops and beer after the exhibition. You won't want to miss that so come early, stay late, and have fun!
