The Passing Parade: Cheap Shots from a Drive By Mind

"...difficile est saturam non scribere. Nam quis iniquae tam patiens urbis, tam ferreus, ut teneat se..." "...it is hard not to write Satire. For who is so tolerant of the unjust City, so steeled, that he can restrain himself... Juvenal, The Satires (1.30-32) akakyakakyevich@gmail.com

And then, in the category of library believe it or not, the city school district sent the annual budget to the taxpayers yesterday, a budget that will raise the local school taxes 8 to 13%. Unlike other, less happy lands, of which we are the envy, to paraphrase Shakespeare, the taxpayers of our happy little burg vote on the school budget, so when people complain their school taxes are too high they have no one to blame but themselves. The budget of our egregious little mold pit was on the budget as well, and the same people who voted for an 8 to 13% rise in their school taxes voted down a 0% increase in their library taxes, which only goes to show that even if you give the public what they want they still won't vote for it.
